Winter office style can get tricky fast. You want to look “business-friendly”, stay warm, and still be comfortable when you’re inside a heated building. That’s why I put together these 10 winter office outfits.

All of the outfits are easy to recreate with things you may already have in your wardrobe.

Let’s jump in.

The Greenlight Executive

Navy coat, green sweater, and charcoal trousers styled as a smart winter office outfit.

Why this works:
Green is one of my favorite Christmas colors because it looks seasonal while still being easy to wear. Paired with a navy coat and gray trousers.

The Frost-Proof Friday Fit

Light blue OCBD with gray puffer and navy trousers for a casual winter work outfit.

Why this works:
This is what I call a “textbook office outfit” adapted for winter. A blue Oxford shirt is a business casual staple, navy trousers are the perfect compliment for the OCBD, and we adapted the outfit with boots.

The parka is for when you step outside and it’s simply to cold to wear an overcoat.

The Arctic Analyst

White shirt, black puffer, gray dress pants, and black sneakers styled as a winter business casual outfit.

Why this works:
This is another winter take on one of my most-loved office outfits. You guys love sneakers, and I worked hard to find the best pair for this look. They’re waterproof and perfect for whatever winter throws your way.

The idea behind this outfit is to wear your normal office look without adding layers, while still handling winter temperatures.

The Wall Street Classic

Navy sweater, white shirt, gray trousers, and navy coat styled as a classic winter office outfit.

Why this works:
You can’t go wrong with navy in winter. The V-neck adds warmth and structure with a subtle business touch.

Fun Fact V-Neck Sweaters: I just learned in the Handbook of Style that the man who popularized V-neck sweaters was none other than Albert Einstein.

The Quiet Luxury Commute Outfit

Cream half-zip sweater, navy coat, and gray trousers styled as a winter smart casual outfit.

Why this works:
Cream is one of the cleanest colors for winter. There’s also a big trend around quarter-zips right now.

The Functional Friday Outfit

White shirt, black puffer, and navy trousers styled as a cold-weather business casual outfit.

Why this works:
A black puffer keeps you covered during the most extreme temperatures. Pairing it with navy wool trousers and Chelsea boots takes care of the rest. Underneath your “commute” layer, you’ll still be office-ready with a crisp white shirt that means business.

The Winter Editor Look

Black half-zip sweater, black puffer jacket, and gray trousers styled as a warm office outfit.

Why this works:
All-black up top is classic winter style. It’s simple and easy to pull off. The wool gray trousers and Chelsea boots keep the outfit office-friendly and functional for winter.

Winter Menswear Starter Pack

Gray quarter-zip sweater, navy coat, and navy trousers styled as a layered winter office look.

Why this works:
Gray and navy is one of the best office color combinations you can wear. It’s clean, minimal, and easy. The quarter-zip keeps it modern, while the coat makes it feel professional.

The Uptown Holiday Look

Green sweater, navy coat, and navy trousers styled as a sharp cold-weather outfit.

Why this works:
This is a more polished version of the first outfit. Sticking to green and navy creates a cohesive winter palette that gets you into the Christmas spirit.

The Office-Ready Minimalist

White shirt, navy puffer jacket, gray trousers, and white sneakers styled as a casual winter work outfit.

Why this works:
If it’s not freezing cold outside then this outfit might be for you, it’s also great for travelling.

The packable puffer is an item you can easily store inside your bag. The actual outfit is a classic smart casual one with a white shirt, gray wool trousers, and white sneakers.

You can change the white sneakers for waterproof ones if you need more coverage.

How to Build a Good Winter Office Outfit

Even with the 10 outfits above, I like having a simple formula I can always fall back on:

Oxford Shirt + Wool Trousers + Wool Sweater + Wool Coat + Boots or Sneakers

What if it gets really cold?

In a case like this, go for function over fashion. I suggest wearing a puffer or parka that keeps you warm and protected, paired with dark wool trousers and boots. You simply take off the parka or puffer the moment you walk into the office.
