TLDR: The 6 Best White Sneakers For The Office

How I decide which white sneakers to buy

First of all, just because we’re talking about sneakers doesn’t mean they’re automatically more comfortable than dress shoes.

As someone with a clear step goal, I need all my shoes to be extra comfortable, especially my sneakers.

Second, it’s about the relationship between price and quality, not just paying for a brand name.

Third, the style should be minimal and made of leather. That means no logos or crazy lines.

Best Overall: Cole Haan Grand Crosscourt Traveler Sneaker

Cole Haan White Sneakers

About the Brand: Cole Haan figured out how to make sneakers that actually look good with dress pants, and feel like you’re walking on clouds.

I’ve worn their shoes a lot, and they’re usually the most comfortable pair in my closet — my real workhorses.

About the Style: The Grand Crosscourt has that clean, tennis-style shape that works perfectly with business casual outfits.

Pros:

  • Lightweight and cushioned
  • Super easy to dress up or down

Cons:

  • Slightly more casual
  • Might be too roomy if you have narrow feet

Most Stylish: Cole Haan GrandPrø Luxe Slip-On Sneakers

I have them in brown, and they are my favorite shoe right now. 😁

  • Stylish and modern
  • Available in lots of colors
  • Easy slip-on design
  • Works well with slim and straight trousers

Cons:

  • More expensive than the Grand Crosscourt 😪

Budget Friendly: H&M White Sneakers

H&M White Sneakers

About the Brand: If you’re just starting out with white sneakers, H&M might be good enough. Their basics are simple, affordable, and look good right off the shelf.

About the Style: These were my first white sneakers a couple of years ago. The style is minimal, clean, and surprisingly timeless, especially for a fast fashion brand.

I bought them on a trip to Miami in January of last year, and they’re still in good condition. They’re the ones I’m wearing with the denim jacket outfit example.

Pros:

  • Super affordable
  • Easy to match with any business casual look
  • Good entry-level pair if you’re testing the waters

Cons:

  • Less breathable than leather pairs

Quince office sneakers

How to style white sneakers for the office

This is a textbook example of a business casual outfit with white sneakers. 👇

Roger Saenz in a light blue button-down shirt, navy trousers, and white sneakers.

When I wear white sneakers, I always make sure to balance them out by making the rest of the outfit more formal.

An example of a smart casual outfit showing the 2 + 2 rule of formal and casual pieces.
Here’s an example with a white poplin dress shirt, navy cardigan and stone chinos.

My simple formula 2 + 2 formula for business casual is: 2 formal or business casual pieces + 2 casual, but sharp items.

In a nutshell, when you’re wearing sneakers to the office:

  • Go with dress pants or chinos. Avoid jeans.
  • Wear a proper dress shirt, an Oxford shirt, or even a polo.
  • Stick to neutral colors.
  • The sneakers should have a minimal design and preferably be all white.
  • Make sure to keep your white sneakers clean.

Now, let’s continue with some examples.

Business Casual Outfits With Sneakers

Minimalist Outfit

Man in a white button-down shirt, navy pants, and white business casual sneakers.

This is a quick outfit you can put together in under two minutes.

You can simply wear a white dress shirt and cotton navy pants to stay extra comfortable.

Olive Green Fall Outfit

Olive green is a neutral color that’s often overlooked when it comes to shirts, but this year, it became really trendy. Anything olive green has been flying off the shelves.

Try to go for a proper Oxford or dress shirt here, and avoid a military shirt like the one I’m wearing.

Cardigan Outfit

A man wearing a navy cardigan, light-blue Oxford shirt, stone chinos, and white sneakers.

Mix a raincoat-blue Oxford shirt with chinos and a navy cardigan, then finish with white sneakers for a well-balanced, comfortable business casual outfit.

Try a denim Jacket

A business casual outfit idea with a man wearing a denim jacket, blue oxford shirt, cream chinos, and white sneakers.

A denim jacket is a fun way of adding that “something else” your office outfits need.

If you’ll be wearing one with white sneakers make sure you’re adding at least two preferably more formal elements, or at the very least business casual.

For this ensemble I went with an Oxford shirt, chinos, and white sneakers.

Add Some Color To your Sneakers

A man wearing a gray crewneck sweater, navy trousers, and brown sneakers.
An easy and comfortable office outfit.

Brown sneakers are an amazing way of adding color to your office outfits.

These from Cole Haan are my latest pick, and so far, I like them more than the white sneakers. I feel they elevate the overall outfit and aren’t just another neutral element.
